Sacking the Super Bowl by Steve Almond Review

Steve Almond's article Sacking the Super Bowl  is definitely a new perspective of the game. Throughout the article he added many surprising points about the NFL. The main point of the article is to convince people in the United States not to watch football anymore. Many of his points, such as how the NFL does not pay any taxes and that it is a legal monopoly, help prove that there are reasons why we should not watch any of their programs. He also described the percentage of football players who have brain problems after they retire. I, like many others, play football and love the game, and to us none of his points will stop me from watching the game I love. As a football player, we understand the risk of injuries and that they are very common but we all continue to play because we love the game. As I have grown up, my coaches have always told me ''play every play like it is your last'' and that is exactly what we do. NFL athletes are the same way, they know the risk, that one hit could change their life dramatically. Almond supplies us with many supporting arguments but I know this will not sway the great majority of people in the United states opinion to watch America's most beloved game, "Football".
